I am so pleased to announce the launch of the "BAD NEWS" line of merchandise! February 2010 marks the birth of something i have wanted for 4 years now. A line of merchandise based off of the book Bad News I released in early 2006! I am taking this new line to 2 different trade shows in February with samples of 8 comics printed on shirts. Click this link to get a look at the catalog I will be showing in San Diego and Las Vegas. More than likely you will see these pop up in my store available to the public mid March.

I'm excited to say I've just received my first peek at a new book I was asked to be a part of called Digital Art Revo
lution, by Scott Ligon. The book is due to be released internationally March 9, 2010. It's is an honor to be placed along side so many other talented digital artists. I urge everyone to take a look at the book's website here and view some of the other artist's work and perhaps pre-order your own copy! More updates coming soon. Happy New Year!

It's been so long over due. I have so many photos and content to add to my site, I tend to put off updating in exchange for doing the actual "work". Today I started opening photos from the trip to Europe earlier this year and began doing further edits. I have updated my 2009 travel photography portfolio, and the number of photos in that gallery are now nearly double what was there. I've also included a few performance photos of the beautiful and talented Lola van Ella, whom I was traveling with, for you. Let me tell you what a wonderful travel companion she is... and we've begun talking about doing it again this coming year! So excited to get back over there! The photo below is from Northern Italy. I was driving but couldn't help from taking a photo as the sun broke through the clouds and illuminated a group of houses on the side of the mountain.

We just got these in and I wanted to post a photo of it. It's a shirt we produced through MATW for Kingpin Tattoo Supply. Brad Fink did the initial drawing for it and I finished it out digitally. Pretty pleased with it and I hope they are as well.

It's been a long time since I've posted anything but that doesn't mean there hasn't been anything going on. Actually too much going on. It's been hard to keep up with everything for a really long time now, so many good things happening! Since the last time posting in June we have been to half of the United States. Launched a new site for Me Against the World. Tore my ACL. Saw bears in the wild (like 6 feet away - stupid close). Lost my phone - entered the future with a fancy iphone. Truck died -long live The Beast! Found out I'm going to be an uncle, the first baby via my brother Matt and sister-in-law Olly! Bikes stolen. Moved out of my spacious house in the country to an apartment in the city (with my love so no i'm not complaining:) And more design work than is really possible with a reasonable amount of sleep (see the "commissions" page). On the verge of launching a new design team with my buddy Tom Huck of Evil Prints. We've been working together for a couple years now, I guess we are just putting a name on it and making it official. Tomahawk Works. The plan is to have the site up and live this month. Will let ya know!

Finished this second design for triple crown before packing up and driving to Vegas for my birthday. We left at 5am St. louis time and arrived the following day around 1 in the afternoon. Slept in a scenic view parking lot in Utah on one of those "no services for 100 miles" stretches and awoke on my birthday morning to a glowing red Utah mountain. What more could you ask for!

Have been home for a couple weeks now from the life changing European trip. We toured through nine countries in all and I am very excited to show some of the nearly 3500 photos taken. Been playing with HDR photography for a few months now and had this process in mind while shooting so a lot of the new images will be shown this way. For now here is an image from the first level of the Eiffel Tower in HDR. Be looking in the photography section soon for a new gallery popping up that will grow and grow as I can get to editing!

Here's a look at the working poster (done by your's truly) for a show coming up the 28th of March; The Bacchanal Carnival Costume and Art Ball taking place at Koken Art Factory! All proceeds go toward sending Lola Van Ella and her lovely ladies to the London Burlesque Festival. Only 9 women were chosen to perform in London this year from the U.S. and 3 happen to be from here in St. Louis! Everyone make sure and make it out and support St. Louis Art! There will be signed prints of this poster available that evening and a raffle for one of Tom Huck's prints!

Finishing the cover illustration and design for Tom Huck's new print campaign (sorry Huck's centerpiece loks a bit dodgy in this size... it is quite large).

On New Years Eve Tom Huck had a huge party at the White Flag Gallery here in St. louis. We had been working on a calender for his printshop "Evilprints" for nearly 6 months and we finally got to unveil it to the masses. Now the photos are out and available for all to see, I feel comfortable placing them on here for you as well. Go to the 2008 section of my photography portfolio for a look at all 13 shots. The party was rediculous. How he gets people willing to dress up like squirrels to be shot by paintball guns or girls to dance near nude in chicken wire cages is beyond me. The end of the night culminated with a maelstorm of hay debris being thrown throughout the gallery. Whoever had to clean that up... I imagine hay + beer = something stronger than concrete.

Just in from Nashville, TN. Andy Northup and I went out on the road for a couple days to visit some people and see some tattoo shops. While in town we were blessed with the opportunity to see The Black Keys, The Royal Bangs and the one and only Jesco White at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Thanks Jesse and Emily for the couches to crash on! (Patti you got to quit eating those jelly and cheese sandwiches!)

Been home from London long enough now to miss it. We had an incredible time. Brad Fink, Josh Chapman, Kyle Markiewicz, Chris Quidgeon, Tom Huck and I went over for the London Tattoo Convention. Admittedly, I spent the least amount of time there out of anyone and just wandered around the city using a series of busses and rails. Thank you so much Johnny and Lindsey for the hospitality and canal ride!

Just getting back from a small 4 day trip. Went to Champaign, Illinois and stayed with Mr. Bobby Pease ( congrats on the job Bob!). Traveled on to Indianapolis, followed by Louisville. Putting in the MATW portion tonight if i can stay up. London in 3 days!

Below is a pic from Bobby's porch.

Just about got the photography section completed. Will inevitably add more and more photos by section as they continue to surface. This in a way was the main inspiration for getting a new site done. To have a personal destination to come to to be reminded of some of the memories of travelling and moments something caught my eye. It will have to sit a little empty for now, time to pack up and meet up with Sean to continue trying to conquer the world!

Six-Thirty in the morning. Started making this site tonight before midnight. Been so busy, been trying to get this thing started for about a month now. Afraid the only way it's going to get done is in exchange for sleep. The sky is a slow slate blue brightening outside the window. Eyes have been red for days.
